Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

* Adherence to the required clearance procedures in accordance with the World Bank Group procedures for Drivers’ medical clearance.

* Driving World Bank staff to meetings and business sites.

* Operating the World Bank vehicle in a responsible and secure manner.

* Maintaining the vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition daily.

* Ensuring the vehicle insurance, registration, and general service schedule are up to date.

* Keeping an updated vehicle logbook including service and fuel dates, and ensure staff sign the logbook after each journey.

* Fueling the vehicle in accordance with World Bank Group fueling procedures.

* Carrying out basic vehicle maintenance and repairs.

* Being able to prevent vehicle accidents with high consideration of other road users and demonstrate professional driving maneuvers.

* Ensuring passengers safety and be capable of handling emergency situations.

* Helping with ad hoc administrative tasks at the request of office staff.

* Ensuring the vehicle is fitted with seat belts, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, spare tyre, jack, wheel spanner, tow rope, jumper leads, tool kit, and any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.

* Ensuring the vehicle is always in a roadworthy condition and equipped for the journey.

* Carrying out daily vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including tire pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel, battery serviceability, and any other requirement.

* Operating vehicle communications equipment effectively, including VHF Radio, and Satellite Telephone.

Specialized Skills

– Armored vehicle operators training and experience in operating an armored vehicle is an advantage.

– Previous experience working as a driver with an international organization is an advantage.

Selection Criteria

* The Driver will be a country national.

* The candidate will possess a valid driving license.

* The candidate must possess a valid defensive driving license.

* The Driver should have a positive attitude, be diligent, flexible, dressed presentably, and take initiative to help office staff and guests.

* Must have completed a Senior Secondary School Education or equivalent, computer literate and should be able to speak fluently.

* The successful candidate must have at least two years professional driving experience in a multi-cultural environment.
