Job the position

Provide motorist services in accordance with World Vision Sierra Leone administration policies and procedures in order to enhance transport services for the Grants Cycle (GC) 7 grant.

Communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Key Outputs/Responsibilities

  • Drive staff and visitors in a professional manner to enhance their timely movement in the course of their duty and or purpose.
  • Ensure that vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy at all times.
  • Complete vehicle Log books daily on vehicle movements in compliance with WVSL Vehicle Policy and Procedures.
  • Responsible for initiating and follow up of the fueling process for all assigned vehicles, ensuring that the vehicles are fueled in an accountable and transparent manner and that there is always adequate fuel in the vehicles for travelling purposes.
  • Responsible for reporting all faults observed or detected on all assigned vehicles to ensure that the vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy state and condition.
  • Responsible for the official movement of the national director and SLT members on all WVSL operations

  • Ensure you are prepared and ready to respond to emergency calls to duty when required even after working hours
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Fleet Coordinator

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Educational level required:  Basic Education Certificate (BECE) Junior Secondary school education.
  • Experience:  2 years of experience in driving hard top/jeep, mini buses and saloon vehicles.
  • Other:  Basic knowledge in vehicle mechanics.

  • Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field.
