The position is located in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). The position is based in Juba and is located in the Electoral Affairs Division. The Electoral Officer (Operations) reports to the international Senior Electoral Officer (Operations).

Education:

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Public Administration, or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Work Experience:

At least five years of progressively responsible experience in electoral administration, government administration and systems, or related areas is required.

Electoral experience in or in support of field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.

Experience in government institution is desirable.

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage
