Job description

Our client, one of Zambia’s largest franchisee manufacturing carbonated beverages and non-carbonated beverages is looking to hire an Electrician who will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the efficient operation of electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and identify solutions to prevent system failures.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes to ensure proper installation and compliance.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components to detect issues such as faulty wiring or equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
  • Ensure all electrical installations meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Test and ensure the functionality of electrical systems using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Provide recommendations for electrical system upgrades and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors on construction and renovation projects.
  • Respond to emergency electrical issues as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols while working on-site.

Requirements

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Diploma in Electrical related qualification.
  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or trade school program is preferred.
  • Must be a valid member of Engineering Institution of Zambia.
  • Proven experience as an electrician or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical ability to handle tools, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes.
