Our client, one of Zambia’s largest franchisee manufacturing carbonated beverages and non-carbonated beverages is looking to hire an Electrician who will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the efficient operation of electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and identify solutions to prevent system failures.
- Interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes to ensure proper installation and compliance.
- Inspect electrical systems and components to detect issues such as faulty wiring or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Ensure all electrical installations meet safety standards and regulations.
- Test and ensure the functionality of electrical systems using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Provide recommendations for electrical system upgrades and improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors on construction and renovation projects.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols while working on-site.
Requirements
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate
- Diploma in Electrical related qualification.
- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or trade school program is preferred.
- Must be a valid member of Engineering Institution of Zambia.
- Proven experience as an electrician or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to handle tools, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes.
