An electrician helper is responsible for assisting electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems. Functions of this position will include installing, maintaining, and/or repairing equipment for the generation and distribution of electrical energy.
The work involves the following:
- Installation or repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, electrical panels, UPS, ATS, controllers, circuit breakers or other transmission systems.
- Required to work from plans, drawings, schematics, or other specifications; identify and diagnose problems with the electrical system or equipment.
- Perform standard calculations related to the charging requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools and measuring and testing instruments for electricians.
Training: Preference will be given to persons who have successfully completed secondary education (or equivalent). Preference will be given to the person who has successfully completed a vocational training programmed in this branch.
Licenses/Certifications: The individual must have successfully entered and completed a vocational training program for the discipline in question. The person must hold a valid business license in the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed (where required by local law).
Experience:
1-2 years of experience required in related field.
Other Requirements: This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities. The worker must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions and work in an outdoor environment.
Security Vetting: Ability to submit Overseas Vetting Questionnaire (OVQ) and Diplomatic Security Identity Assurance System (DSIAS) enrollment certification documents to receive satisfactory clearance approval. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
Language Skills:
Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, quality control and security measures.
