Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company is a Commercial Water Utility providing quality water and sanitation services to its customers in Kitwe, Kalulushi, Chambishi and Lufwanyama. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Company seeks to employ suitable, highly motivated and goal-oriented professionals to fill the following vacancies:
1.0 Engineer – Mechanical (x01)
1.0 Job Purpose
To supervise and undertake mechanical maintenance of water and sanitation installations in order to ensure availability of plant and equipment.
2.0 Job Accountabilities
To supervise and undertake effectively the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules in order to guide the operation of the Unit.
To supervise and undertake effectively the designing, installation and maintenance of mechanical systems and electro-mechanical equipment in order to ensure efficient and safe operation, and prolong the equipment lifespan.
To supervise and undertake regularly the updating and filing of documentation and technical specification in order to facilitate maintenance works.
To supervise effectively the development of energy-efficient strategy, collection and analysis of energy consumption data in order to develop and implement appropriate interventions.
To supervise and undertake effectively the collection and analysis of equipment operational data in order to monitor performance and facilitate decision making.
To supervise timely implementations of performance management systems in order to monitor and evaluate performance and ensure attainment of unit objectives.
To supervise effectively the utilization of human and material resources in order to ensure attainment of unit objectives.
3.0 Qualifications and Experience
Full grade twelve certificate with at least credits in five (05) ‘O’ levels including Mathematics and English
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering/Electro-Mechanical Engineering
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
At least five (05) years’ work Experience in a similar capacity
4.0 Skills, Knowledge and Other Attributes
Problem solving and analytical skills;
Must be assertive with high level of leadership skills;
Must have knowledge of at least one Engineering Software and Microsoft office (Word, excel and power point);
Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail; and
Excellent interpersonal communication at all levels (verbal and written).
