The Specialist: Operational Excellence (OE) plays a critical role in orchestrating cross functional initiatives and enabling operational governance expectations within the Technology Fixed Line Services (TFLS) domain. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, this role will focus on embedding a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture through role-modelling the principles of Go See, Ask Why and Show Respect.
Looking inwards, the focus will be on embedding controls and standards which promote quality and efficiency as the organizational ethos through consistent, repeatable patterns. This includes identifying root causes, implementing countermeasures, resolving root causes and assessing impact.
Looking outwards, the focus is to support the achievement of team objectives by partnering with relevant stakeholders to ensure that handover points enable end-to-end effectiveness through the evaluation of input and output parameters. This includes the governance aspects of the environment, extending into the partner landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support cross-functional initiatives in alignment with the overarching OE framework.
• Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and training sessions.
• Coach teams through milestones to embed the continuous improvement culture.
• Monitor the effectiveness of improvement strategies and process controls.
• Conduct operational readiness reviews for new products or product enhancements.
Reporting:
• Maintain a database of initiatives with status and benefits tracking.
• Maintain a database of external processes with performance against standards.
• Maintain a database of internal processes with performance against standards.
• Maintain a database of operational readiness reviews and launch criteria achieved.
• Present findings on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Key Deliverables:
• manage an operational excellence dashboard (# of initiatives [% approved vs rejected, impact realised], # of people trained).
• Support the the operational excellence program ensuring Project Sponsor and Stakeholders expectations are managed.
• Maintain MTN governance standards, in relation to operational excellence, by implementing proper controls and processes to minimise risk to MTN.
• Implement change management approaches to support the rollout new improvement initiatives and updated processes compliance.
• Track a portfolio of initiatives which adequately considers bottom-up suggestions and top-down strategic requirements.
• Provide necessary input and documentation to internal audits when required.
Qualifications
Education:
• Minimum of 3-year tertiary diploma / degree in relevant discipline
• Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering would be advantageous
• Relevant certification focused on continuous improvement methodologies (ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean or similar) would be advantageous.
• Fluent in English.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant field
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a medium to large organization.
• Experience / exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean, Agile or similar) would be advantageous.
