ICS Addis is recruiting an experienced upper elementary classroom team teacher to join a team-taught hub in our elementary school team. Elementary teachers are expected to have strong and successful experience with collaboration and be able to work, plan, reflect, and communicate with others, as part of a Professional Learning Community. Upper elementary school teachers should be comfortable delivering instruction in all of the major content areas, including science, social studies, math, and literacy using an inquiry-based approach. A strong foundation in the five domains of reading, and current knowledge of best practices in teaching reading are essential. In addition, understanding the unique needs of second language learners is key to success at ICS. Applicants require at least three years of International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program experience. Teachers are expected to foster a love for learning and develop the ICS Learner Profile in each and every student.
A highly qualified candidate will have knowledge, experience, and skills in:
- At least three years experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) with a depth of understanding in inquiry and concept-based learning
- Team-teaching in a collaborative hub environment
