We seek enthusiastic, qualified and experienced candidates for the position of English As An Additional Language Teacher in August 2024:

Key Responsibilities
• Language Instruction
• Design and Deliver Lessons: – Develop and implement effective, engaging, and differentiated language lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students learning English as an additional language.
• Language Proficiency Assessment: – Conduct language proficiency assessments to determine students’ English language levels and monitor their progress over time.
• Support and Differentiation
• Individualised Support: – Provide individualised support to students, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet their unique language learning needs.
• Collaboration with Classroom Teachers: – Collaborate with subject-area teachers to align language support with academic content, ensuring students can access and understand curriculum materials.
• Cultural Sensitivity
• Cultural Awareness: – Foster a culturally inclusive and sensitive classroom environment, acknowledging and respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of EAL students. • Cross-Cultural Communication: – Facilitate effective communication and understanding among students from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• Parental Involvement
• Communication with Parents:- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on students’ language development, progress, and strategies for support at home.
• Parent Workshops: – Organise workshops or informational sessions for parents to enhance their understanding of the EAL program and ways to support their children.
• Professional Development
• Continuous Leaming: – Stay informed about current best practices, methodologies, and research in the field of English language acquisition and teaching.
• Professional Collaboration:- Engage in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and improve teaching practices.
• Assessment and Reporting
• Progress Monitoring: – Regularly assess and monitor students’ language proficiency, preparing progress reports and participating in parent-teacher conferences. Standardised Testing: – Prepare students for standardised language proficiency tests, providing guidance and support throughout the testing process.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or licence.
• Proven experience in teaching English as an Additional Language, preferably in a diverse and international educational setting
• Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and best practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
