Are you someone who can:
- Ensure all open exchange account payments are made to prevent any exchange losses to the bank and to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met when executing payments
- Provide Exchange Control advice to customers and non-customers who have complex cross-border Exchange Control problems ranging from the private individual to the “mega corporate”.
- Ensure team attends to the submission of Exchange Control applications to SA Reserve Bank on a daily basis and Vet all transactions in terms of Exchange Control Rulings
- Develop and implement business cases for process enhancements and new processes and products within an Exchange Control Business Unit by identifying areas in Excon that needs corrective action, finding a solution and implementing such solutions in coordination with the Forex Pillar heads and identify areas of cross border transactions / international banking
- Attend meetings at customer premise to assist and Endeavour to resolve Exchange Control matters
- Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analyzing trends and data
- Proactive supervision of people to avoid customer breakdown by managing and resolving all customer queries efficiently, and within agreed timelines for all exchange control enquiries
- Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of Team Leaders and teams in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies
- Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements and interpret changes to Exchange Control regulations and rulings and ensure implementation of it within the International Banking Centre
You will be an ideal candidate if you:
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Commerce/Law/Compliance
- Have a minimum of 3 – 4 years’ experience in a leadership role within an Exchange Control/ Foreign Exchange Payments environment
- Have experience in a Customer Service environment
