Job description

The executive director will direct the overall operation of the project; responsible for overall leadership of the Association’s strategic plan, annual work plans and budget, including development of guidelines for project implementation and monitoring of programs. Oversee the human resources functions to ensure optimum staffing and engagement of competent staff and their supervision in the project activities. Ensure projects directed by the Association are properly implemented in terms of action plan, budget and timeline.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, development, and implementation of the activities of the Association, manage and guide staff of the Secretariat.
  • Monitor program objectives, track implementation and resource utilization, document, and report to the Executive Board regularly.
  • Plan, organize, direct, co-ordinate and monitor the day-to-day activities of the Association.
  • Represent the Association in all national and/ or international dealings and legal obligations.
  • Implement tasks, signs contracts and letters on behalf of EPHLA.
    Operates bank accounts and signs cheques of the Association with other signatories.
  • Implement decisions passed by the general assembly and the Board.
  • Prepare work plans, budgets, and policies of EPHLA and present to the Board and implement same when approved.
  • Ensure that appropriate system of books of accounts are maintain, revenue and expenditure are correctly and timely recorded and kept and are accessible to the auditor.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial and performance reports and submit to the Executive Board.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic
  • Demonstrated expertise in program and project management, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
  • Good communication skill.
