Together we are 121 BirdLife Partners worldwide – one per country or territory – and growing. We are driven by our belief that local people, working for nature in their own places but connected nationally and internationally through our global Partnership, are the key to sustaining all life on this planet. This unique local-to-global approach delivers high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people

Summary

You will lead and manage the BirdLife Secretariat’s six regional Directors and the team responsible for coordinating the six global conservation programmes: agriculture, climate change, flyways, forests, marine and preventing extinctions.

Responsibility

  • The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of strategic leadership and management experience gained in an international, diverse and multi-stakeholder environment, with a deep understanding of global conservation challenges and approaches.
  • You will bring a proven track record of influencing for impact, fundraising and a demonstrated capacity to manage and maintain high level donor relations.
  • With strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, you will have a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to listen and engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally as well as be a compelling ambassador for BirdLife International.
  • Your deep commitment to BirdLife’s values and approach will be evident through your ability to foster collaboration at local, national, and international levels to ensure the effective delivery of the BirdLife International’s conservation endeavours.
