About The Role Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage customer database by building the best routes for our dedicated fleet.
  • Proactively identify and address issues related to transportation, such as delays, route changes, or unforeseen challenges.

  • Efficiently plan transportation routes to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transit times.
  • Implement effective problem-solving strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain service levels.
  • Increase customer service levels.
  • Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate execution of transport plans.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor the real-time status of shipments and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, assess operational effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize service levels and control costs.
  • Master routes to be maintained, individually optimized.
  • Move customers and orders between routes.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, ensuring they have all necessary information and support during transit.
  • Be actively involved in and support change initiatives.
  • Reduce operating costs through improved fleet utilization, reduce waiting time, reduce distance travelled, and minimize vehicles used.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • 3+ years in Transport /logistics/FMCG environment.
  • Matric.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in the logistics field and its dynamics.
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Well-organized individual and results oriented.
