Job description

Our client, a Crop Science Innovation company, is seeking a Field Assistant to join their team. The Field Assistant will assist in various fieldwork and data collection activities to support our research projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of researchers.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and organizing fieldwork activities, including recruiting participants and scheduling interviews or surveys.
• Travel to various locations to collect data through interviews, surveys, or observations.
• Ensure accurate and timely data collection by following research protocols and procedures.
• Record and document data in a systematic and organized manner.
• Assist in data entry and management tasks.
• Conduct quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized and secure records of collected data.
• Assist in data analysis by preparing data sets and conducting basic statistical analyses.
• Provide support in preparing research reports, presentations, and other project-related materials.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of fieldwork assistants.
• Stay updated on relevant research methodologies and techniques.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality of research participants’ information.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Grade Twelve Certificate
• Diploma in Crop Science or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
• Previous experience in fieldwork or data collection is desirable.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and entry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data entry software.
• Basic knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
