Education:
- Master’s degree in International Development, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Social Work, Humanities/Social Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
- University degree in above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
- Experience in protection and/or MHPSS response programming in humanitarian context.
- Experience working with vulnerable groups, for example, survivors GBV, persons with disabilities, persons that have experienced trauma, etc.
- Experience and ability working in difficult locations for extended periods of time.
- Experience delivering trainings, providing guidance and supervising protection and/or MHPSS field teams is an advantage.
- Professional experience working on Protection GBV risk mitigation in crisis context.
- Experience in the development and/or implementation of protection mainstreaming and/or specialized protection programming.
- Experience in equivalent role in South Sudan is an advantage.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.
- Accurate and detail oriented.
- Good computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email/internet software.
- Ability to be resourceful and flexible in a limited resource environment.
Languages:
- IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.
- For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
