Finance Director at DCB Commercial Bank, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

DCB Commercial Bank Plc is a fully-fledged retail and commercial bank in Tanzania, offering banking services to individuals, Microfinance, Small to Medium-sized Businesses (MSME), and large corporate clients. With over 9 branches, 700 DCB Wakala Agents, and more than 280 Umoja switch ATMs, the bank serves over 3 million customers across the country.

DCB Bank is looking for an experienced Finance Director to join its senior management team. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a financial strategic plan to maximize income and minimize risks to achieve the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a financial strategic plan that aligns with the bank’s goals.
Advise senior management and the board on fiscal control, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
Collate, prepare, and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries, and financial statements.
Ensure the asset management policy and register are up-to-date.
Ensure adherence to the bank’s financial policies and procedures.
Work with other departments to maximize investment returns while minimizing costs.
Manage investor relations, ensuring effective communication of financial position and risks.
Oversee the execution of the bank’s strategy by managing the Finance, Business, and Data Analytics functions.
Develop strategic balance sheet and capital planning through dialogue with government and financial institutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

University Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Accounting, or related fields.
Accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or ICMA.
Minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a management role in a financial institution.
Financial and treasury management experience in Tanzania, with exposure to international financial management systems.
Expertise in fiscal control, financial reporting, tax compliance, and investor relations.
Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
