As a Finance Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team by assisting with various financial tasks and projects. You will gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all the payments for the month have payment checklists
- Render support as and when needed on project activities
- Proper filing of all the vouchers and supporting documents and follow up on those missing vouchers
- All PVs/QBE bills are serially numbered
- Advance reconciliation vouchers are also serially numbered and attached
- Check that the contact details of the vendors are all in QuickBooks
- Carryout random verification of payments made to the participants and file the verification records together with the payment vouchers
- Follow up with vendors to ensure that all the invoices are sent to finance on time
- Setting up a filing system for major procurements done so far.
- Ensure the basic documentation (vendor registration form and PO terms and conditions) for setting up new vendors are sent to the new vendors and the completed forms are returned timeously.
- Review the completeness of the log sheets for both project vehicles and rented vehicles
- Ensure all invoices are stamped paid before being filed
- Support in retrieving requested documents as and when needed by the Finance and Operations Manager
- Taking correspondence to the Bank and other places as and when required
- Follow up on any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or any related courses.
- Excellent written and oral English skills.
- Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages, and internet research.
- Willingness to travel domestically, as required.
- Strong team spirit with a proven ability to foster team building in a multi-cultural setting with team members and partners from diverse backgrounds.
- Diplomatic communication skills (written and verbal), including dealing with high-level government and international officials, senior academics, and dignitaries in the appropriate manner.
