In the role of Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
- Manage the review of financial transactions and supporting documentation in an organized and professional manner looking for areas to improve processes
- Ensure adequate cash flow for operations and safety of financial resources at all field sites, liaising with field accountants and area coordinators
- Supervise finance officer(s) and field accountant(s)
- Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with fellow financial staff, the Director of Finance, and area coordinators and work to develop the competence and capacity of national staff
- Provide support to base managers and program managers to help them understand financial policies, financial practices, and budget management. This includes supporting program managers during the annual budget process
- Assist in preparing journal entries and finalizing all transactions and documentation related to the financial closeout process each month as well as the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation of country accounts
- Assist the Director of Finance on a monthly basis in reviewing local payroll and payroll taxes for all field sites
- Assist the facilitation of internal and external audits
- Work closely with the grants department and program development officers to develop and amend program budgets and agreements
- Cover for the Director of Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, and ER Finance Manager when one of them is on leave or unable to carry out the role
- All other duties as assigned
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in accounting or another finance related field of study and two (2+) years or more of related experience; or an equivalent combination of accounting education and manager experience
- Certified Public Account (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred
- Financial management experience, particularly in a foreign context, is preferred
- Experience working with foreign currencies and external grants
- Above average written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Able to manage people and delegate responsibility
- Able to work in a diplomatic way in adverse and pressure-filled environments
- Able to encourage and demonstrate concern for the well-being of international and national staff
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)
Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)
