Zizi Afrique is looking to recruit a Finance Officer who will be responsible for supporting financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies, donor regulations, and local statutory requirements. Additionally, the role holder will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring smooth financial processes within Zizi Afrique, under the guidance of the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions and Bank management

  • Process payment requests, ensuring accurate capture and approval in the banking system.
  • Verify banking details to ensure payees receive payments correctly.
  • Notify payees of payments, providing timely and detailed remittance advice.
  • Upload payments to the banking system and mobile banking platform, coordinating approvals.
  • Manage bank accounts, monitor balances, and support cash flow management.
  • Track forex market rates and recommend conversion strategies.
  • Liaise with banks for account operations and documentation.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank, mobile money, and credit card accounts.
  • Ensure all payment requests are processed promptly.
  • Assist in bank account openings, closures, and related documentation.

Financial management & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records in Xero.
  • Review and process payments in ApprovalMax before final posting in Xero.
  • Reconcile and post imprest retirements, ensuring accurate financial tracking.
  • Maintain well-organized financial documentation for reference and audits.
  • Generate invoices and issue receipts for incoming funds.
  • Ensure proper filing of financial records both digitally and physically.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing budgets for donor-funded projects under KES 10M.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budget and cash flow projections.
  • Maintain accurate filing of statutory financial records.
  • Support the preparation of the annual organization and staff activity budgets.
  • Assist program teams in budget preparation as required.
  • Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Draft financial statements for internal and external reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws, statutory regulations, and financial reporting standards.
