Responsibilities
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
- Ensure that all expenditures are budgeted for and have received the necessary approvals.
- Conduct timely tax registration validation and distribute withholding tax certificates as needed.
- Process payment vouchers, checks, and electronic funds transfers (EFT) promptly.
- Monitor and report on expenditures in accordance with approved budgets and work plans.
- Review and validate mobile money requests, ensuring accuracy of recipient details and activity involvement.
- Follow up on accounts receivable and ensure timely liquidation of staff advances.
- Analyse vehicle log sheets and reconcile fuel statements for project and hired vehicles.
- Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems for accounting documents, ensuring easy retrieval.
- Participate in work plan development, budgeting activities, and ongoing budget tracking.
- Assist in conducting financial and compliance reviews for program activities.
- Support internal audits, donor reviews, and external audits as required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Minimum Level 3 CPA (U) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with donor-funded programs, preferably with USAID or CDC-funded projects.
- Knowledge of US government cost accounting standards and procurement procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), MS Office, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
