Responsibilities:
- Process and manage all aspects of Financial Reporting.
- Provide sufficient support to General Manager: Finance.
- Implement financial controls.

- Manage Bookkeeper/s, including providing appropriate support.
- Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities:
- Assist the GM/Finance Manager in the preparation of financial reporting.
- Implement financial controls.
- Supervise the financial reporting for Stoma.
- Ensure accounting policies and other finance policies are updated timeously.
Finance Responsibilities:
- Be able to process financial data on Accpac and CANSAonline.
- Management of balance sheet accounts as per procedures prescribed, including reconciliations of assets, stock, earmarked funds, etc.
- Balancing Balance Sheet monthly.
- Checking and reconciling cash books.
- Management of provisions as per procedures prescribed.
- Compiling & Managing budgets/forecasts and provide guidance/warnings regarding variances.
- Timeously producing monthly accurate financial reports to specific deadlines, including variance reports, Surplus Deficit, Balance Sheet, etc.
- Timeous distribution of monthly financial reports to business units.
- Time management to reach deadlines.
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Ensure the implementation of CANSA financial policies & procedures.
- Fixed asset management and monthly reporting.
- Accounts payable management and monthly reporting.
- Inventory management and monthly reporting.
- Processing of monthly fleet journals.
- VAT recons.
- Electronic payment authorizations on various bank accounts and release internet bank payments.
- Updating & reconciling the monthly stoma figures.
- Supervise bookkeeper and provide appropriate support.
- Year-end reconciliations and external audit preparations, assisting with external and internal audit queries.
- Any other Finance or Admin queries.
- Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications:
- Three-year University degree in Accounting or BCom Honours (Accounting or Finance) or Equivalent NQF level 8.
- Registration with a professional accounting body e.g. SAIPA or AGA will be advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 5 years working experience, including processing up to balance sheet and proven record of budget management.
- Previous experience working in an NGO environment will be an added advantage.
Skills:
- Ability to use accounting software, previous experience on Accpac/Sage 300.
- Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles, processes, and policies.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office software, internet-based applications, and computer equipment.
- Accurate data analysis and numeracy skills.
- Resilience to work in a highly structured and pressurised environment.
- High level time management and organising skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills and attributes.
Requirements:
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s licence and own transport.
- Non-Smoker.
