The position is responsible for supporting the Finance department in the implementation of its Finance strategic goals.
Position:
As a Financial Analyst, you will:
- Maintain Financial Reporting and General Ledgers (IFRS, Statutory and Tax) and Key Account records:
- Preparation of year-end Financial Statements.
- Ensure overall Financial Accounting meets IFRS and Group Policies and Procedures.
- Preparation and review of financial accounting entries and ensure they are in line with Group Accounting Policy.
- Prepare monthly and group reporting packs.
- Review cost center reports and track budget spending.
- Prepare and review monthly Key Account Reconciliations.
- Supervise and manage process of Good Receipt (GR) in SAP.
- Manage monthly closing schedule and ensure compliance with group requirements.
- Contribute to Audit and Tax Compliance:
- Coordinate and manage interim and final year end audits.
- Participate in coordinating and supporting tax audits.
- Ensure all General Ledger postings have correct tax treatment.
- Prepare audit schedules and evidence to ensure timely closure of year end audit

- Ensuring JTI Fixed Assets are managed in line with local policies.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register in SAP in line with the Group and Local Asset Policy.
- Maintain correct Asset master data and with up-to-date location
- Monthly review of CIP and ensure projects are tracked and capitalized timely.
- Ensure that every 3 years physical asset verification is carried out in line with Group Policies.
- Participate in annual asset impairment reviews.
- Ensure JTI Inventory is managed in line with Group and Local Policies:
- Coordinate quarterly inventory counts.
- Prepare and coordinate the process relating to costing of Inventory.
- Reviewing regularly the crop input prices and margins for management reporting.
- Adherence to all financial related JSOX controls, as required by Group guidelines
- Responsibility for financial controls as allocated by Internal Controls
- Ensuring all control exceptions are adequately addressed
- Upload evidence of Internal Controls to adhere to group standards
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor of Accountancy / Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, CA or other relevant professional qualifications.
- Minimum of a Credit in English and Mathematics for General Certificate of Education and full High School Certificate.
- 4 years of well-rounded experience in a financial accounting and reporting role.
- Must be a registered ZICA member.
- Work experience in FCGM industry is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in using SAP S4-Hana is an added advantage.
- General knowledge of the tobacco industry
- Proficient in MS Office, Word & PowerPoint. SAP or relevant local ERP knowledge a plus
- Strong communication, decision-making, inter-personal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accurate, structured, well-organized with strong attention to detail, pro-active, with strong sense of urgency and autonomous but team-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
