This position is in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Wau. The Fire Safety Assistant reports to the Aviation Fire Safety Officer or their designate.
Eligibility Criteria
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification:
- Heavy Duty Specialized Driver’s License is desirable.
- Technical or vocational certificates in Fire and Rescue, dangerous goods, and fire medical assistance is desirable.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of aviation fire safety, emergency response, or other related fields is required. The minimum year of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
- Experience in the United Nations is desirable. Such experience would be indicative of the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position at a high level.
Languages:
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
