Job description

We are seeking an experienced Frontend Engineering Trainer to join our Training Team from our Accra office. You will report to Head of Training. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective training sessions on front-end development topics, including JavaScript, Typescript, React and Angular.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, demonstrations, code reviews, and hands-on exercises, to cater to diverse learning styles.
• Facilitate interactive discussions and encourage active participation from learners.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to learners, addressing their questions, challenges, and concerns.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
• Offer constructive feedback on assignments and projects to help learners improve their skills.
• Assist in the ongoing development, refinement, and updating of frontend curriculum materials.
• Collaborate with other instructors and program administrators to ensure the program’s consistency and effectiveness.
• Ensure that course content aligns with industry standards and best practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in front-end development.
• Evaluate learner performance through assignments, projects, and assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Track and report on learner progress and identify areas for improvement.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in frontend engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript with hands-on experience with front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular).
• Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Basic knowledge of back-end development concepts is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas and instructions effectively.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
