Roles and Responsibilities
Income Development:
- Identify and formulate an action plan to utilise community structures for income generating opportunities and development
- Influence and facilitate the initiation of community-based fundraising activities including the national programs
- Ensure all assigned events are achieving required benchmarked standards
- Analyse the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved or more funds raised
- Build upon existing donor/sponsor relationships and form new relationships on a regular basis
- Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
Volunteer Management:
- Compile community profiles
- Implement the Community Development Model to ensure that people from all sections of the community are actively involved and contributing towards the development of CANSA volunteer structures
- Recruit, train, coordinate, motivate and nurture diverse volunteers for all assigned activities
- Recruit, train, empower and guide community volunteer committees to effectively achieve cancer control, income development and advocacy goals as contracted including leader volunteers
Qualifications and Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12, a qualification in Event Management will be advantageous
- At least 1-year’s experience in Fundraising
- Extensive knowledge of based area and businesses
- IT & Social media skills: Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office software, Internet based applications and computer equipment
- Excellent Customer Service and Professionalism
- Exceptional Written & Verbal Communication skills: Public presentations, able to facilitate groups/volunteers
- Organising and Time Management Skills
- Resilience and emotional maturity to work through a highly structured, target driven and pressurised environment
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s licence and own transport
- Able to work over weekends
- Non-Smoker
