Qualifications, experience and attributes
Certificate in Industrial Clothing Design and Construction or a related field.
A Diploma in Industrial Clothing Design and Construction will be an added advantage.
At least 1-year experience in clothing production.
Preference will be given to applicants with a very strong experience in industry.
Responsibilities
Assembles knitwear garments from individual components, such as sleeves, bodies, and
collars.
Follows instructions and patterns to ensure accurate assembly.
Operates sewing machines and other equipment to join components together.
Inspects garments for quality and accuracy during assembly.
Identifies and reports any defects or issues to the quality control team.
Works efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
May be involved in finishing tasks, such as sewing on buttons or attaching labels.
Must be able to supervise and guide students as they do assigned projects and forge strong
links with industry in line with the expectations of the Education 5.0 philosophy and
University of Zimbabwe’s Strategic Plan.
