Programme Implementation and leadership: Responsible for the operation and functionality of the Protection/GBV help desk, PSS services for children with psychosocial needs and SGBV survivors, case management and referral systems for GBV survivors, and community engagement with a survivor-centered approach. Where challenges arise, ensure that these are flagged early, communicated to the Protection Coordinator, and if necessary, to the Project Team Leader and addressed appropriately.

Support the Protection Coordinator to develop, implement and monitor weekly, monthly and quarterly activity plans to achieve expected results. Ensure timely and quality reports are submitted as required by the project

Provide follow-up support to SGBV survivors in coordination with the Protection Coordinator and the program team

Assessments and information/data management: With the support of the Protection Coordinator, identify the need and conduct safety assessments and safety audits, Heightened Risk and Vulnerability Assessments, develop protection incident monitoring system, ensuring that CP/SGBV incidents (with keen attention, PWD and minorities/marginalized) are immediately identified and reported within 48hours.

Community-based and survivor’s centered approach: Work closely with the Child Protection Committees and GBV Group and resource persons; create a supportive environment in which a survivor’s rights are respected and in which s/he is treated with dignity and respect and ensures physical and emotional safety

Awareness and advocacy: Conduct awareness sessions in the community and seek positive social redress on GBV and child protection

Peoples Management: Mentor GBV community mobilizers and CFS Animators, support them to set performance objectives ensuring that they achieve their performance objectives and program results

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • Diploma in Social Works, Human Rights or other related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in child protection in emergency or post-conflict environment
  • Proven experience in case management, psychosocial support (directly or indirectly) and access to justice
  • Good knowledge of GBV international best practices, including IASC GBV Guidelines, Caring for Survivors, SOPs, GBVIMS
  • Excellent work experience in training facilitation, mentoring, and capacity development
  • Energetic and self-motivated, with skills in community mobilization, training, and team building;
  • Proven analytical, and problem-solving skills and comfortable working under minimal supervision;
  • Highly organized, efficient, and able to meet key deadlines;
  • Must be a South Sudanese National
