- Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Gender and Development, Development Studies, or Sociology
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing technical leadership for the design and implementation of development programmes focused on advancing gender equality and social inclusion.
- Experience of working on large, complex, donor-funded programmes, with results-based delivery on projects.
- Experience in engaging with stakeholders on gender issues, including proven ability to work with vulnerable groups, indigenous people, NGOs, and CSOs across Zambia.
- Experience working with/through partners, including building the technical capacity of implementing partner organisations and government staff.
Desirable:
- Extensive technical knowledge and practical experience of gender dynamics and women’s empowerment challenges in Zambia.
- Strong understanding of the contextual challenges faced by communities in Zambia, including discriminatory gender norms and gender dynamics, as well as solid working experience in the country.
- Strong public presentation skills and the ability to represent the programme’s GESI strategy to a variety of audiences, including government representatives, donors, academic institutions, civil society, community representatives, and others as required.
- Strong analytical skills and professional experience in conducting gender assessments.
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, with competing priorities and minimal supervision
