HOTEL INFORMATION:

Meliá Zanzibar, now Gran Meliá Zanzibar is surrounded by a natural coral reef, and is built on a 16-hectare estate beside a 300-meter-long white sandy beach. It boasts six restaurants and five bars serving local and international delicacies, and an Africa-inspired spa to relax both body and mind.

POSITION PROFILE:

Providing direct support to the Managing Director you will be responsible for the operations, coordination, management, supervision and analysis of results from all Hotel Departments:

  • Direct and inspire the high performance of hotel teams continuously evaluating and maintaining high service, quality and productive processes and workflow.
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of the procedures and policies of Meliá Hotels International in alignment with the strategic plans.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-4 years of experience in General Manager positions within a resort upscale resort.
  • Proven track record in managing resorts, preferably in African destinations.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality is essential, with a background in working with well-recognized brands in this segment.
  • Expertise in managing relationships with property owners, requiring diplomacy, business acumen, and effective communication.
  • The candidate must demonstrate adaptability to the local environment as Zanzibar.
  • Operational focus, problem solving skills to manage with the challenges of the area, calm and social/team working to be close to the team and properties.
  • Functional knowledge of all department operations.
  • English is mandatory.
  • Proven ability in Human Resources Management & Talent Development.
  • Knowledge of IT tools used in hotel management.
  • Able to reside in Zanzibar.
