Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include:
- Demonstration of a “safety first” focus by acting as a role model to personnel, whilst continuously developing safe and effective work practices and procedures.
- Conduct ore delineation and control – including efforts to minimize dilution, ore loss, and misclassification
- All RC grade control planning, execution, supervision and sampling to best practice and QAQC standards
- Conduct in-pit mapping and 3D interpretation
- Integration and interpretation of all geological and sampling datasets to create 3D geological, structural, geochemical, and geo-metallurgical models
- Assist with best practice material reconciliation and tracking
- Continuous liaison with key stakeholders, including mining operations, mining engineering, process, geotechnical and hydro-geological teams to drive benefits aligned with business objectives
- Assisting the mine geology reporting support teams, including both day-to-day core operations and long-term strategy, driving quality and standards in the teams’ work and efficiencies.
- Assist with the management and control of the quality and standard of consistent and secure databases and information storage
- Assist in the preparation of geological and operations reports and official communications
- Assist the Senior Mine Geologist with the planning and prioritization of geological activities across the mine leases, where requested.
- Perform any other project work or related duties assigned by the supervisor
Job Specific Competencies
The Graduate Geologist will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
- Good IT skills
- Good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Data analytical and presentation skills advantageous (PowerBI)
- Basic field mapping, core logging and RC Chip logging advantageous
