Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a semi-autonomous body responsible for promoting, developing
and regulating the capital markets industry in Uganda, with the overall objectives of investor protection and market efficiency. It was established in 1996 following the enactment of the Capital Markets Authority Act (Cap 64) as amended.
CMA invites applications from young lawyers to join its graduate trainee program within the Legal
Department. The candidates selected will gain hands-on experience in securities regulation, including
legislative development, drafting and reform, capital markets transactions, enforcement of regulatory
provisions, and engagement with related legal proceeding; among other dynamic learning
opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Law with first class or upper second and a Diploma in
legal practice awarded in a period not exceeding two (2) years by the date of application.
No work experience is required, however the desired candidate(s) should demonstrate strong interest
in the capital markets industry.
