The South African National Aids Council Trust (SANAC Trust) is hereby calling all interested youth led, Community based Organisations (CBOs) established and working in the Northwest Province (Bojanala), Eastern Cape (OR Tambo), Gauteng (City of Tshwane), and KZN
(eThekwini) to implement community-based youth HIV literacy interventions to promote demand for HIV services and retention in care for young people.
Eligibility Criteria: The CBO must be youth led (management and board members personnel be below age of 35). The CBO must be registered in terms of the Non-profit Organisations Act, No. 71 of 1997, as amended, and produce the NPO registration Certificate, which will be verified for validity with the NPO directorate within The National Department of Social Development. The CBO must originate and be operational in the provinces and districts within which they are applying for funding. The CBO must utilise existing structure and integrate this project on a level of effort percentage basis. The CBO must have at least two years of experience in providing youth related HIV & AIDS services a n d
h a v e e x p e r i e n c e in coordinating and implementing youth campaigns and dialogues, and treatment literacy implementation, youth led organisations with good working relations (with references) with local health facilities and schools in the chosen districts will be highly
considered. The CBO’s will facilitate and ensure effective implementation, coordination, and monitoring of youth HIV literacy implementation as per the project specifications. The CBO must have sound financial systems in and the ability to gather data, compile information and
compile reports. The CBO must demonstrate the ability to operate in a multi sectoral environment and have experience in health youth programmes. Applications must provide evidence of proof of authority (Board Resolution or the equivalent) to apply for the grant,
provide a tax clearance certificate or confirmation that they are registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), have evidence of a physical office structure and be able to ensure sound financial management and accounting procedures. All applications for funding must be done using the SANAC Trust proposal documentation (Form 1, Form 2, Budget and Budget justification template) available on the SANAC Trust website (www.sanac.org.za). All sections of the applications must be fully and comprehensively completed.
