Job description

  • To be responsible for coordinating credit risk activities within CIB and to ensure CIB maintains at all times a healthy debt portfolio through an efficient and effective credit risk appraisal, approval, monitoring and control system.
  • To ensure that all other forms of risk exposure within CIB are identified and appropriate measures put in place to mitigate negative effects of risk.
  •  Collaborate with finance and the data team to collate and analyse CIB performance and provide commentary on CIB performance to the Divisional Director and Desk Heads.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist CIB to achieve high standards of credit appraisal, monitoring and control.

GOVERNANCE   

  • Embed the Bank’s values and code of conduct in Business and usual to ensure that  adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies processes and regulations among employees  form part of the culture

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of first degree or a relevant professional qualification. MBA in a related field will be preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years banking experience, at least 5 of which should have been in a Relationship Management role in a Corporate and Investment Banking environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of the business banking products
  • Thorough knowledge of product economics and pricing.
  • A good understanding of the business dynamics of Global Corporate businesses and their peculiar banking needs
  • Demonstrates good relationship management experience backed by a very good understanding of credit.
