Under the general guidance of the Managing Director, lead the human resource function and facilitate the realization of the company’s corporate strategy through the formulation and implementation of best practice Human Resource Management policies, procedures and processes that creates a cohesive, highly skilled and motivated workforce as well as initiation of guidelines for HRM and HRD.
The holder will also lead collective bargaining efforts and organizational development initiatives and ensure the establishment of administrative systems and processes to promote operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

 Develop a strategic Human Resource plan for talent acquisition, development, utilization, motivation and retention that is aligned with the company’s corporate strategy and business objectives.
 Facilitate the development of a change receptive and collaborative culture by acting as a change champion and agent and ensuring that the workforce is adequately carried along when key changes and or decisions are being made
 Champion the formulation and effective implementation of recruitment strategies and plans to identify, select, hire and retain the best talent to meet the Bank’s manpower needs and ensure optimal staffing levels at all times.
 Ensure the design and implementation of need-based, cost-effective learning and development strategies to support the Bank’s business goals and improve corporate performance.
 Articulate the Bank’s succession and career management strategy and assume responsibility for implementation once necessary approvals are obtained.
 Oversee the development, implementation and administration that ensure the company’s market competitiveness, and balances employee satisfaction and well-being with the Bank’s financial resources.
 Ensure the formulation and implementation of an effective performance management system which is objective, equitable, transparent and merit –driven.
 Develop, lead and manage the Bank’s Industrial Relations policies and practices to enable employee engagement, productivity and legal compliance. In accordance with this, keep abreast with Labour laws, employment regulations, and adapt policies to ensure compliance.
 Direct, manage, develop and supervise the HR and Administration team to achieve unit and departmental goals and objectives.
 Oversee the preparation of the HR and Administration Units and Departmental annual budget and monitor its implementation.
 Any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time to meet the objectives of the organization.

Qualifications

A minimum of a master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Science or related field from a recognized university.
 A minimum of twelve (12) years of Human Resources and Labour relations experience, with four (4) years in management role.
 Membership of a relevant professional body (CIPD/SHRM/IHRMP or equivalent)

Skills

 Knowledge of the local Labour Laws and Regulations
 Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities
 Solid business acumen and highly developed decision making and analytical abilities
 Strong oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills
 Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills
 Government or regulated industry experience is an asset
 Change management skills
 Stakeholder and customer relationship management skills
