We are seeking a Health and Nutrition Technical Lead to serve in our office in Juba, South Sudan. As the Health and Nutrition Technical lead you will have the opportunity to facilitate the implementation of quality health and nutrition activities in South Sudan through the management of community-based treatment of malnutrition, as well as curative and preventive health programming, ensuring program outputs and outcomes are realized while meeting recognized standards and donor requirements.This is a tremendous opportunity to make an immediate impact!
In the role of Health and Nutrition Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead health and nutrition multi-sectorial technical assessments in coordination with other Samaritans Purse technical leads
- Support program managers to develop detailed implementation, budget, procurement, and MEAL plans
- Develop health and nutrition learning needs assessment and capacity building plans for the health and nutrition team, coaches and mentors them, linking capacity building initiatives to wider opportunities identified via coordination and networks.
- Establish accountability mechanisms for Samaritans Purse health and nutrition interventions, ensuring that feedback is incorporated into program design and learning.
- Oversee implementation and ensures high quality and timely delivery of program activities within budget per internal and external requirements and standards.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in public health, health science, nutrition, or a related field and five (5) years of international work experience in East/Central Africa; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Management and capacity building experience of national staff in NGO programming preferred.
- Management and capacity building experience of national staff in non-governmental organizational programming is strongly preferred. Strong coordination skills, flexibility, adaptability, and patience.
- Facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences.
