The Human Resources officer will be responsible for overseeing various HR functions to recruit, develop, and retain a skilled workforce that contributes to the project’s objectives while adhering to relevant labor laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with project management to understand the human resource requirements of the road construction project.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified personnel for various roles within the project.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews, assess candidates, and make recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are oriented to the project’s goals, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Oversee employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, track attendance, and manage leave requests.
  • Implement performance management processes, including setting goals, conducting evaluations, and identifying opportunities for professional development.
  • Collaborate with the safety department to ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices.
  • Support the project team in implementing training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in managing compensation and benefits administration for project employees.
  • Prepare and submit HR reports to project management as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Human Resource Officer or similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with labor laws, regulations, and safety standards relevant to the construction sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and safety standards relevant to the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic construction project environment.
