Qualifications and experience:
1. Must have a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
2. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
3. Five (5) years working experience in HR practice, two (2) of which should have been at Officer level in a reputable Organisation.
4. Professional certification in HR and membership to HRMAU is desirable and will be an added advantage
5. Knowledge and expertise of executing HR functions is desirable
6. An in-depth understanding of labour laws of Uganda and disciplinary procedures.
7. Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.
8. Should be highly organized with a high level of meticulous attention to detail as enormous information is within their jurisdiction.
9. Should have a high level of Confidentiality as sensitive information will be within their jurisdiction.
10. A committed and practicing Christian.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the development, implementation and review of HR initiatives, policies, procedures and systems.
2. Manage the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions, posting advertisements, and managing the hiring process from the start to finish right from
Identifying HR gaps to on boarding.
3. Provide support in the preparation of the monthly payroll, maintaining payroll related documents and ensuring payroll information is properly documented and filed.
4. Assist in performance management processes, including timely probation and annual appraisal processes, contract renewals, etc.
5. Develop and implement University wide staff training and development programs.
6. Preparation of HR related statistics and periodic reports to Management and Boards
7. Coordinate the Academic Staff Promotions process from start to finish.
8. Supervise Junior staff in the Directorate of Human Resource and Administration.
9. Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
