Six Rivers Africa (SRA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to protect, restore and preserve flora and fauna in wilderness areas for future generations; and improve quality of life for communities living adjacent to protected areas.

Six Rivers Africa is looking for a Human Resources Management (HRM) Specialist to maximize the potential of the organization’s human resources by developing, implementing and managing HR strategies and programs that align with the organization’s goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent, screen applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate with management for final selection.
  • Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process, ensuring new employees receive comprehensive orientation and integration into the organization.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems, coordinate performance reviews and ensure consistent feedback and development plans and provide support and guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and issues, investigate and resolve employee complaints and conflicts.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Implement and manage disciplinary procedures in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure the implementation of HR and safeguarding policies across the organization, make recommendations for policies and procedures review as necessary
  • Compliance: Ensure organizational compliance to labour laws and regulations, and other relevant laws o Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. o Reporting: Prepare HR reports and metrics for management. o Support organizational initiatives and projects as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. A Master’s degree or professional HR certification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR management, preferably in the non-profit sector. o Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Commitment to professionalism and ethical standards o Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. o Capable of leading and managing change to improve organizational culture and efficiency  o Attention to detail and ability to produce clear, concise and grammatically correct written materials  o Proficiency in HR software will be an added advantage
