The Humanitarian and WASH Specialist provides technical leadership, strategic guidance, and quality assurance in the design, implementation, and evaluation of WASH and infrastructure programs in both Development and Humanitarian emergency intervention. The role ensures that FH Uganda’s WASH interventions are evidence-based, innovative, and aligned with national, international, and organizational standards. The Specialist strengthens community ownership, enhances stakeholder collaboration, and contributes to donor engagement and resource mobilization to achieve sustainable impact.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in water resources engineering, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Public Health Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in Humanitarian and WASH programming, with at least 3 years at a technical or specialist level.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale WASH and infrastructure projects in both development and humanitarian settings.
- Strong knowledge of WASH sector standards, government policies, and donor compliance frameworks (USAID, EU, UN agencies, World Bank).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other engineering/technical software is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and resource mobilization.
