Overview of position

The contracted personnel will be required to provide technical support & assist in troubleshooting of United Nations enterprise applications. Additionally, s / he will also technically assist & support all other field office locations throughout the mission area whenever required

Role objectives

• Strong knowledge of object oriented programming concepts & understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), testing & packaging for deployment from DEV to PROD.
• SharePoint development & migration experience with SharePoint Online, O365 Suite & SharePoint Framework, including establishing sites in hybrid contexts, development & administration.
• Strong knowledge of PowerApps & Power Automate.
• Understanding of Cloud platforms & services, ideally Microsoft Azure & Amazon Web Service (AWS).
• Knowledge of data collection, identifying patterns & trends in data sets covering data analysis, cleansing, processing visualization, report generation, modeling with quality assurance, privacy & security.
• Defining new data analysis & collection processes producing dashboards.
• Deep expertise & hands on experience with web application & programming languages such as C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript HTML5, CSS, CSS3, MySQL & API’s.
• Proficiency in frameworks & CMS such as Drupal, Bootstrap & Angular JS.
• Design & manage mission hosted websites using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver & Adobe Illustrator.
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with web services REST, JSON & SOAP.
• Develop, implement & performs application & website security & access controls.
• Troubleshoot & creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
• Strong understanding of User Interface (UI), cross browser compatibility, general web functions & standards.
• Work closely & collaborate with UN Global Service Center (UNGSC) Application Support Team.
• Assess, understand & translate business requirements into automated or integrated processes aligned to UN technologies.
• Design & implement reliable application backup solution.
• Optimize & maintain legacy application systems.
• Install, manage, maintain & replicate SQL server databases & all associated applications.
• Manage & maintain all enterprise application servers for compliance & vulnerability checks / updates ensuring latest updates & versions as per industry standards.
• Support United Nations enterprise applications such as FSS, iSEEK, eCC, eCOE, UNITE Correspondence CODECABLE, LCC for procurement, ERMS, EFMS, NOTICAS, SAGE/i2, etc.
• Able to write & edit technical documentation.
• Must be diligent & reliable delivering high quality work within tight deadlines.
• Provide product specific training whenever required.
• Be on call & provide 24 x 7 support to troubleshoot issues or problems when required especially during crisis & emergency situations.
• Perform any other duties from IT & Communications & tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Qualification
• Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or other related field.
• Must have at least 8 years of working experience relating to the required technical knowledge written above.
• Knowledge & experience with Card Exchange & HP Safecom are desirable.
• ITIL, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certifications and Microsoft Fabrics Analytics Engineer Associate certifications required.
• Knowledge on CRM (iNeed), Field Support Suite (FSS), ERP system (UMOJA) & other UN enterprise applications are desirable.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially SharePoint Online, PowerApps, Power Automate & Microsoft SQL, etc.
• Experience in South Sudan is desirable.
• Must have a national driver’s license & able to drive a light motor vehicle with manual transmission.
• Must be fluent in English, both written & oral.
