To support efficient transport operation by receiving company trucks, planning and scheduling operation, and executing transport operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- · Coordinate the activities of staff in relation to transport operations within the unit on duties like tracking/monitoring of transportation vehicles.
- · Receive trucks assigned from fleet management unit.
- · Monitor and follow up important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of the Company’s transportation operations.
- · Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arises) and to set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues.
- · Ensure that all Commercial activities meet all legal, contractual, fiscal and company requirements.
- · Prepare daily assignment schedules for truck and driver crew.
- · Monitor dispatching is conducted appropriately and based on the planned schedule.
- · Make sure the trucks are used appropriately and as per company standard.
- · Make sure trucks have necessary log cards while they are operational and extend necessary support.
- · Execute energy saving changes to transportation services, such as reducing routes, optimizing capacities, or minimizing idling.
- · Monitor the fleet operational condition and if necessary, initiate a corrective measure.
- · Monitor truck downtime and take necessary corrective measures to minimize it.
- · Lead the collaboration with delivery partners so as to mobilize them whenever they are needed.
- · Collaborate with Fleet Maintenance unit of the company to find better ways of handling the logistics operation.
- · Review, approve and submit reports to relevant organs.
- · Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
- · Manage disciplinary concerns of the unit’s staff.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Management, Transport Management, Logistics and Supplies Management and related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience.
