Install and repair cabling infrastructure to the mission area including HQ, Team Sites and remote areas as needed by the mission.
Works with FTS Engineering Group (Network, Server, Telephony, Microwave, Rigging and Satellite Unit) on implementing, expanding and rectifying all ICT cabling and infrastructure.
Primary focal point to all cabling concerns including but not limited to UTP / network cable, communication and data equipment layout and fiber optic connectivity.
Regularly visits team sites and remote areas inclusive of mission area to maintain and install cabling as necessary.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues with network, microwave and other engineering units regarding the physical layer.
Assist service desk and other units on cabling concerns within office premises.
Team lead for infrastructure team members and other units involved with infrastructure works.
Advises and evaluate procured and to be procured infrastructure equipment and materials as necessary.
Ensuring the installation of all UTP and STP cables meet the TIA 568B (TIA/EIA TSB-67 standards) or other applicable international standards;
Providing knowledge and support in the implementation of grounding enhancements and/or solutions to ICT critical devices and infrastructures
Skills and Qualifications
Working knowledge on ICT and Office Equipment including but not limited to facsimile, copying machines, printers etc.
Ability to assess, report and evaluate infrastructure projects.
Has a valid driver’s license and can drive 4×4 vehicles used to carry and transport ICT materials.
Firm knowledge on cabling including basic knowledge on fiber optic technology.
