In this role you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various instruments and control systems used in the production process. They will work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure the reliable and accurate operation of instrumentation equipment
A day in the life of an Instrument Technician:
- Install, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level transmitters, and control valves.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instrumentation systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability of instruments.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement control systems for new equipment or processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of instrument maintenance activities, including calibration records, work orders, and equipment manuals.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel on instrument operation and troubleshooting.
What will make you successful?
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years Proven experience as an Instrument Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control systems, and process automation.
- Proficiency in calibrating and troubleshooting various instruments using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMI interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and specifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
