World Renew Tanzania Office is a relief and development organization of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), is registered in Tanzania as an International NGO, under the Non-Governmental Organizational Act, 2002, made under Section 11(1) and 17(2) of Act No. 24 of 2002 with the Registration Number I-NGO/R2/000640. In collaboration with our local implementing partners and government district councils in Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Mara, and Mwanza, the World Renew Tanzania Office is implementing various community development and disaster response programs focusing on improving Food Security, Conservation Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction, Environmental Protection, Youth Empowerment, Livelihoods and Income Generation, Health, and Literacy.

B. Purpose of the Position:
This position will be based in Mwanza and will work closely with the Programs Coordinator (PC), Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, and the program teams. The position will make a major contribution to implementing World Renew’s community development and disaster response programs in coordination of ISUPDO nation, planning, and implementation. She/he will participate in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project progress, participating in preparing project reports, and coordinating the project partners’ meetings. Renew development programs in collaboration with the project team and implementing partners to deliver major project objectives efficiently.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement, improve, and integrate community development programs through consultation.
  • Experience in participatory community processes (e.g., PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), PLA (Participatory Learning and Action), AI (Appreciative Inquiry)).
  • Able and willing to work in a team setting; able to develop team skills in others, be proactive and able to work with minimal supervision as needed.
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, with accounting software knowledge, QuickBooks, a helpful skill.
  • Administrative skills and experience and well-developed oral and written communication skills are required.

D. Education:
Degree in Community Economic Development/ Projects Planning and Management/ Business Administration, Cooperatives Management, or any other Rural Development qualifications. A minimum of three years of community development work experience in one or more areas (s) of microfinance, agricultural economics, cooperatives management, community development, literacy, or community health is required.

E. Language Skills:
Excellent in written and spoken English and Kiswahili languages.

F. Physical Demands:
Travel up to 10-15% of the time to rural project areas within Tanzania – mostly Geita, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora, Kagera, and Kigoma. Travel and accommodation in difficult rural areas with limited access to many services such as running water and electricity.
