KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Engagement Planning
- Support the development of the engagement work plan that considers RENU strategies, objectives and risk that are relevant to the engagement.
- Support preparation of documentation templates to be used during the engagement activities.
- Ensure that the knowledge gained from departmental engagements is incorporated into audit assignments and overall audit plan.
2. Audit Execution
- Execution of the audit assignments indicated in the audit plan.
- Perform compliance audits across all departments of the organization and report on the findings accordingly.
- To ensure that planned audits are carried out and any areas for improvement discussed and reported to the head of internal audit and risk management.
3. Reporting
- Submit Audit reports to the Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management.
- Prepare internal audit reports which present audit findings in a clear, concise manner.
4. Follow Up
- Follow up closure of any outstanding audit actions for the assigned department.
5. Internal Control Framework
- Periodic review and evaluation of the RENU internal controls.
- Monitor the operation of identified controls and recommendations on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in the review of internal control Compliance checklists designed by management to keep them abreast with the compliance requirements.
- Support existence and ongoing adherence to the policies, procedures, and standards within the internal audit function.
- Recommend improvements to systems and controls based on observations and best practice.
6. Risk Management
- Assess the risks inherent in the organisation’s processes and recommend measures to mitigate them.
- Support the formulation of risk management strategies and policies and all operations areas of the organization, reviewing exposure to risk and the effectiveness of the controls in place to mitigate risks.
7. Adhoc Engagements
- Support the assessment of accuracy of accounting records for RENU projects.

Submit analytical reports containing the necessary analysis, findings and recommendations from the engagements.
