Are you a seasoned security professional looking to ensure a safe and secure environment in a healthcare setting? Veteran Mission Hospital in Syokimau, Nairobi, is seeking a highly competent and experienced Internal Security Manager to oversee our security operations and safeguard our patients, staff, and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the hospital’s security team to ensure a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
  • Oversee access control and surveillance systems to monitor and control entry to the hospital premises.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms promptly and effectively.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies and emergency services as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal security regulations.
  • Develop and conduct security training programs for staff to enhance awareness and preparedness.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of security incidents, investigations, and reports.
  • Coordinate with other hospital departments to ensure security measures align with overall hospital operations.
  • Manage the security budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of security equipment and technology.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Investigate and resolve security breaches, thefts, and other incidents.
  • Foster a culture of safety and security awareness within the hospital community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and emergency response.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify potential risks, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in using security systems and technology.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
