Deployment of the relevant methodologies, tools, approaches and the best international experiences related to the sustainable natural resource management, including biodiversity conservation, protected areas management, pesticides management and so on.
Tasks and responsibilities
• In collaboration with the International Expert on Rural Employment and Market Research, develop a final report which details proposed agrifood interventions for each of the identified value chains, which aim to increase the employment of vulnerable groups
• Attend stakeholder consultation meetings and validation workshop
• Provide technical feedback on value chain related documents as required
• Prepare presentations on proposed agri-food interventions for each of the value chains for stakeholder meetings
• Perform other related tasks and duty travel as required
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• Advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in a relevant discipline such as agricultural management, agribusiness, agricultural economics, marketing, business administration or another relevant field
• At least three years of relevant experience in value chain analysis, value chain development, rural businesses, livelihood diversification or related areas in agri-food sector
• Working knowledge (level C) of English

Technical/Functional Skills
• Solid experience in developing investment plans and project proposals with government institutions and private sector is highly desirable.
• Experience working in UN agencies is desired and experience in the private sector working at different stages of the agrifood value chain is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners developing effective working relationships; and
• Experience working in Azerbaijan/the South Caucuses region highly regarded.
• Knowledge in Russian, Azerbaijani or Turkish will be considered as additional asset.
