Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager: Inclusive Growth, the Intern will undertake the following tasks:
- Assist in planning, implementing, administration, monitoring, and evaluating the UNDP Inclusive Growth programme and projects
- Collect and analyze socio-economic data relevant to the promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth in South Africa
- Support the formulation of strategies and the monitoring of progress towards the achievement of the SDGs
- Research potential partners and funding opportunities
- Develop concept notes
- Support stakeholder management
- Support the planning and organization of events
- Support the development of communication and knowledge management products
- Attend conferences and meetings with stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes
- Assist in drafting and preparing official documents
- Any other tasks as may be required

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
- currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
- have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.
- Field of study: Business/Public Administration, Economic or Social Sciences or equivalent.
IT skills:
- Knowledge and a proficiency user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
Internet based working tools
Experience:
- Work experience is an asset but not a requirement. The intern must be eager and proactive.
- Understanding of issues related to inclusive growth and the SDGs is advantageous.
- Exposure to international development in inclusive growth and South Africa’s development is a significant bonus.
