Tanganyika Plywood LTD (TPL) produces plywood for the local and regional markets in East Africa. It uses sustainable plantation materials, specifically eucalyptus and pine. The company has been operating for 8 years and is now looking for a dedicated inventory Controller to achieve its growth goals. The company is located in Mafinga, Tanzania and the project post is for a full-time position on site.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our inventory processes to ensure efficient operations within our manufacturing facility. The role involves working closely with various departments to maintain accurate inventory records and implement best practices for inventory control.

Responsibilities and Duties
1. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available for production and sales by updating inventory management systems and databases
2. Will be expected to help improve and implement process design and production flow.

3. Conduct regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and investigate discrepancies.

4. To do Data analysis to improve inventory turnover.
5. Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies.
6. Collaborate with other departments to forecast inventory needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

7. To help in improving production efficiency by preparing and analyzing inventory reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.

8. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage lead times and delivery schedules.
9. Ensure compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards in inventory management.
10. Train and supervise staff involved in inventory activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field is an advantage
2. Certification in inventory management is advantageous
3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office packages.
6. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands.
