Injaro Investments Limited (“Injaro”) is a private equity and private credit manager that deploys investments in Sub-Saharan Africa. As an impact-oriented investor, Injaro supports entrepreneurs to develop businesses that generate social and economic value. Injaro is the Advisor for the Agri Business Capital Fund (ABC Fund), which aims to generate private sector investment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), farmers’ organizations and smallholder farmers’ groups across SSA.
The company seeks an experienced investment professional to join its team. The ideal candidate will have extensive relevant experience in the evaluation of agricultural investment proposals and management of credit schemes. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in business, banking and /or economic development. She/He will work with the ABC investment team to ensure the development of ABC portfolio across Africa. The role may be based in Kigali, Rwanda; Nairobi, Kenya; or Kampala, Uganda with travel across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and review investment opportunities.
• Perform detailed financial analysis, impact analysis and underlying transaction analysis.
• Prepare Risk Committee and Investment Committee proposals.
• Prepare and conduct on-site Due Diligence.
• Lead deal structuring, negotiation and transaction execution and monitoring.
• Supervise a team of Investment Analysts.
Qualifications
• Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, agricultural economics, development economics or closely related disciplines.
• Have a minimum of Five (5) years’ professional experience of which at least three (3) years
completed:
• at an impact fund in a credit analyst role; or
• at a reputable private financial institution; or
• as a consultant at a reputable consulting firm; or
• in a mid-level operational/supervisory role within an agribusiness, food processing or similar company
• Good level of maturity and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record in structuring and management/ monitoring of successful agricultural finance projects.
• Communicate and write effectively in English, French is a plus.
• Ability to travel across Africa for work.
• Competence in the use of standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
